Welcome back!!!! As you can see we are on week three for mystical themed crafts. These flower babies are fun and easy to make. I made these for an event and the little kids loved them. This is also a great project for a birthday party, a sleep over, or just a day of crafting.
What you will need:
- Wooden baby doll pins (you can get them from amazon or a company that sells wood doll pins)
- Acrylic paint (any color)
- silk flowers
- Hot glue gun or tacky glue
Using the picture as your guide
Paint the body of the doll your choice of color or you can use marker and just color the body
Take your silk flowers and cut the flower off close to the base and glue it in place to the head
You can add a face if you like or leave it without one. I chose to add just eyes; I did the closed eyes because it’s a small doll and fits better but feel free to do what your feeling 🙂
Thanks for stopping by; I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
Please feel free to comment your thoughts and also share what projects you are working on. If you try this project, share your pictures to my facebook page and/or tag me on instagram.
Talk to you again soon.
I’ve been busy trying out new projects; one of those projects are little Gnome dolls. They are only about 1 1/2″ tall but are cute and easy to make. They are a great project for those days where it’s rainy and you (or the kids) just need something to do or just something fun to make on the weekend. You can order the doll pins from Amazon, they have a variety. I’ve also ordered from company’s that make and sell these specifically. I always try to compare prices.
Here is what you need:
- Paint and a paint brush
- Doll pins
- Hot glue gun or a quick drying tacky glue
Paint the doll pins the color of your choice (photo below); it may take more than one coat so let the paint dry before applying the second.
Cut the hat from felt. I didn’t have a pattern so I made my own; I just played around till I got one that worked. To figure it out cut a square from the felt and make a cone; adjust till you like what you have and cut into shape and glue it on. If you are making multiples, I suggest tracing it to paper so you have a pattern you can keep. You can also add a face if you like, I thought they looked cute without them.
Picture shows the steps
As you can see the project is simple and easy; the hardest part is figuring out the hat. I had fun making them and can’t wait to take them to my next craft show.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments on this project. If you have any suggestions or tips i’d love to hear these as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
Whats your hobby?
I craft, paint, draw, sew, scrapbook, make paper products, bake, garden, and do alot of other things. I enjoy trying new things and being challenged (even if I do get frustrated. lol)
Some of my favorite projects are the paper products I make and some of my sewn items. I also enjoy painting, and making toys which go over well with the kids; I try to change it up based on the show i’m doing and time of year it is.
Here are a few of the things i’ve made….
I find crafting in any form is a great stress reliever and it’s something I really enjoy. It’s also become a family affair with my husband and daughter. It’s a great way to spend time together.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
