Christmas is over and so is the holiday craft show season…. like many crafter’s with the new year here it’s time to get organized and see what supplies you still have or need to replace. You never know how much you have until you have to put it back. Over the next couple weeks I will be putting my craft room to rights, re-organizing my supplies and seeing what I have or need….it’s also a good time to purge those things you’ve had for years and have never used (although this is difficult. lol).
I’m dreading and excited to be going through everything. I have a tendency to find supplies I forgot about or projects I set aside to do something else that had to get done, which gives me ideas for all new projects.
As weird as this sounds, I put on the four Shrek movies to clean to. Last year I was able to reorganize my room in the time the four movies were finished. I used to play a game with my daughter when she was little to get her to clean her room. I would set a timer and she had to beat the clock….I guess this is the same theory.
I have a small craft room which causes storage problems… my hubby and I have been throwing around some ideas and hopefully i’ll have a nifty new room by summer.
Please feel free to share your stories and comments.

My Ideal Space solutions…. I think I need to go to Home Depot
Can you believe it…. The first weekend in January is already here. We made it through the first week of work and now the weekend is here. January and February are typically longer months…. but once March hits, BAM! It’s summer. Make memories this year, make each day count, and don’t rush your days…. before you know we’re going to be in the next new year.
Have a fabulous first weekend! Get a start on those goals and projects.
Thanks for stopping by…….
Happy New Year and Welcome 2018!
2017 flew by….before I knew it Winter turned to a brief spring and then Summer. Summer came and went and Fall hit us. Halloween turned to Thanksgiving and then Christmas was here and now we are in a brand new year. I decided a long time ago that I would no longer make resolutions but set goals; unfortunately, I still failed at some of those. However, new year new goals and i’m very determined to stick to them this year.
To start the year off my family and I will be starting the Keto diet. Unfortunately, we can’t start that until all the junk from Christmas and New years is gone but we will start incorporating the foods into our diet now so that when the other is gone we won’t go into carb free shock. lol
I also have plans for my blog, my crafts, working on my business and Etsy shop and getting ready for the craft show season. I’ve been throwing the idea around for a few years about writing a craft book…I have so many ideas. This is another goal i’ve set for myself but there are so many factors; I need to decide on the # of projects I want to show, what they are, write the instructions, photography, then decide if I want to reach out to a publisher or self publish…any thoughts you have on that are welcome.
My ultimate goal is to open up my own store; I have had this dream for years but I always seem find reasons not to do it. It would be a craft and hobby store but not just a regular store. I want to be involved with the community; have open sewing where people can come with their groups and have a place to do their projects. I want to work with the schools for workshops on textiles and product creation; since schools do not have Home Economics any longer this would be an ideal way to take lessons they learn in Social Studies and put them in practice. I also want to host events that will help bring the community together. Art and Music….they bring everyone closer.
Like I said, I have goals and I am determined to meet them this year. My husband and daughter support me and with their love and support I can accomplish anything.
I think it’s time to start working on my timeline and start working on things in order, I have a lot to accomplish 🙂
What goals or resolutions do you have this year? Any advice you want to share?
Thanks for stopping by!!! May your new year be full of happiness and good things.
Well…it’s that time of the year again. My favorite time of year! Fall is finally here and I hope it’s here to stay. I love the changing of the leaves, the way they smell when they fall & cover the ground. The sound they make when you walk on them. There’s nothing better than going outside with your coffee or hot chocolate and just breathing deeply and smelling the earth.
I love to go to the nature center and walk around. There’s nothing more peaceful than being out in nature and enjoying the quiet of the earth. Sure there are other people but the nature center is so big not everyone walks on the same paths. My daughter and I went when the leaves were just starting to change and unfortunately, we didn’t get much nature time…I can’t wait to go back and see the changes.
Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is coming….My lovely daughter will soon be 21. With the changing of the season, also comes the changing of my daughter into an adult. I feel like i’m always working and between that and her going to school and working part-time, we both cherish the moments where we can spend an entire day together just hanging out.
I hope you enjoy your fall…. Mother nature is an amazing thing and God paints a beautiful landscape. Take the time to smell the the air, the earth, and see all the beautiful colors and just enjoy the world around you.
Hi there, I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything new…. However, we’ve been busy. Over the last 3 1/2 weeks we’ve had a new addition to our family…her name is Molly. Molly is a Coonhound and Short Haired German Pointer mix. She has the markings of both her breeds and her ears are a combo as well but her bark is definitely coonhound.
We adopted her when she was just 6 months old and is now coming up on 7 months; don’t let her size fool you…she is a big girl but still a puppy. We lost our dog Jetta last August, a month before her 15th birthday. I know some people say you should get a dog right after you lose one, but it took a while before our hearts were ready for another one.
Molly has been through three homes prior to us….she was found in a ditch on the side of the road by a friends son when she was 4 months old and they took her in. Unfortunately, because she is very energetic they couldn’t keep her with little ones running around as well. Molly was adopted out to a family who didn’t really have the time she needed and because of this was not a good fit for them, so 3 1/2 half weeks ago she became ours.
The first night was hard on her and the first week difficult. As we came up on the second week we had a few struggles with dominance and her trying to make the rules. As we came up on our third week she became accustomed to our routines and us hers and she’s learned some new tricks. We are now coming up on a month and she is totally different than when we first got her. She still has moments where she reverts back due to insecurities but it doesn’t last long. Lots of hugs, kisses, good girls, play times, belly rubs, and walks help.
My advice to anyone looking to adopt a new puppy or even an older dog….find out what the breed is; do you have the time and energy to give them the attention they will need. What is your lifestyle? Are you away from home a lot? Do you hike, boat, bike, run? As long as you have the patience and the time you’ll have an amazing new family member who will love you unconditionally.
via Daily Prompt: Imaginary
There once was a little girl named Neva who had an imaginary friend named Tim. You see, Neva was an only child and she really wanted a brother. Unfortunately, her parents were not able to have any more children. Neva and Tim played together every day. He kept her company when she was lonely.
One day Tim told Neva he was moving away and they couldn’t play anymore. Neva was mad at Tim for having to leave but she forgave him. Then one day, her mommy and daddy told her they were moving to a bigger house in the country. When mommy asked about Tim, Neva said Tim moved away.
Mommy gave her a hug and told her it was okay and that friends sometimes move and that she would make new friends. When they moved to the new house Neva never saw Tim again but she talked about him sometimes. When Neva went to school she made new friends and soon Tim was forgotten.
